Classification, not examination.
The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties assesses what you already hold and assigns a professional grade. For a recognised European specialty certificate there is no equivalency examination.
The specialty certificate establishes the field. The grade follows from independent clinical practice after it: Consultant classification generally expects three to five years, and below that the classification is Specialist or Senior Specialist. Non-Saudi applicants are expected to show at least a year of experience.
A regional board is preferred but not mandatory. Its absence may send the file to the Classification Committee, which adds time.
- Employment gaps that cannot be evidenced. Continuous verifiable employment is the backbone of the file.
- Documents whose issuing institution no longer answers correspondence.
- A specialty title that differs in wording between the certificate and the employment reference.
